Have you ever thought about how to create a unique outdoor photography backdrop that isn’t actually part of the outdoors? Are you tired of having your subject pose in front of a tree, or sit on a park bench, or just lay on the grass? Sure, these are timeless photos when taken properly, but anyone can take a picture these days anywhere – thanks to cell phones. If you want your photos to truly stand out, as well the fantastic creativity that a true photographer can bring to a photo, then it’s time to think “inside” the outdoors by using truly original ceiling tile designs.
Ceiling tiles come in many exquisite and upscale designs that can enhance any photo, but when used outside of inside, the photos and the subject instantly get an edge in the “Wow” factor. How? Imagine your subject is a couple that has just been married and is having an outdoor wedding. Imagine a placement of silver elegance tiles in a square placed on a bed of green grass with the bride sitting with her dress spread out flowing as they often like, and yet it can be as if she is floating on this bed of silver flanked by the grass. Take the couples portrait on the elegant silver tiles as if heaven placed a dance floor on the earth-just for them. An 8 foot by 8 foot square can be made, or smaller if you desire. They are lightweight, so not too difficult to transport. Such a “floor” can also make an uneven ground cover more stable and a wet one suddenly “dry”.
The single reason to have the designed tiles on-hand for your photo session is this: If you have a session scheduled for a sunny day, your subject and/or client won’t be disappointed if he or she cannot be outside. They still can – with your beautiful tiles. No dresses ruined, no having to change planned kneeling poses. A myriad of problems are solved with these fantastic designs. Babies can crawl around without their mothers getting worries about them on the cold ground, and you can shoot from different angles to achieve a great mix of the “natural meets a higher level of taste”. Using high shimmer tiles in gold or silver can address a cloudy day issue or a dull, wintry, background by making it brighter. When the weather is white and snowy out, how elegant it will be to put a tile floor on the ground for some dramatic effect to the photos.
Antique copper makes a wonderful backdrop or floor design, upscale for a female and masculine enough for the gents. Paintable PVC tiles can be a great set to have on hand. A quick paint job can tailor your backdrop to your needs. A photographer who uses these tiles in the outdoors can really “stand out” among the rest of the crowd, and ensure a truly beautiful photograph outdoors, no matter what Mother Nature puts in your lens!
So far, there are two people that I know of that have used our ceiling tiles for floors. One of them is Kirk Voclain and the other one is Marcia Sandler. With their permission I am going to show you their images. Please take a look.
First 5 Images are from Marci Distinctive Photography Studios
In the first five images the flooring was done by using our DCT04 Antique Copper Ceiling Tiles. This tile is 2ft x 2ft in size and made out of PVC.
Next set of images are from Kirk Voclain Photography
In the images by Kirk there are two different tiles used. One of them is 117 Faux Tin Ceiling Tile – Antique Copper and the other one is DCT01 Antique Copper.
Each of these are made by a different manufacturer, so keep in mind that the color, although the name “Antique Copper” is the same, are different. But as you can see in Kirk’s images, he made it work quite successfully.
